Six questions to ask before you hire a ghostwriter
A quote tells you the price. These questions tell you what the price buys.
- Who writes the draft?A team of ghostwriters drafts each book from the outline built on your concept. A ghostwriter pass and an editorial pass then revise it line by line, and an independent human beta reader reads the whole book before it is sent to you.
- Who owns the book?You do. The manuscript, the cover and the metadata belong to you — the book publishes under your name, through your own KDP account. We sign a non-disclosure agreement on request.
- What does the price include?Per book: your concept session with Coral Hart (once per series), a full draft of up to 50,000 words, an editorial pass, a human beta read, and your cover, back-cover blurb, Amazon metadata and A+ content, ready for KDP.
- How does it compare on price?Published prices usually run from $1,800 to $16,000 for a full romance novel from freelancers, and from $25,000 to $57,500 and up from agencies. Most do not include a cover. Author Services is $260 a book. See the side-by-side table (prices read October 13, 2026).
- What if the first draft is off?Every draft goes through a revision pass and a human beta read before you see it. And if the first draft doesn’t match the concept brief we agreed at your concept session, we’ll revise it against that brief at no extra charge. The promise covers the brief we agreed together — a new direction or a changed concept is a fresh brief, not a revision.
- How long will it take?You get the whole series concept up front, at the start. Once you approve it, the books come to you one by one: each book is sent as soon as its beta reader finishes. We confirm your start date when you order.
