How much does a romance ghostwriter cost in 2026?

From freelancers, usually $1,800 to $16,000 for a full romance novel. From agencies, $25,000 to $57,500 and up. Most of those prices do not include a cover, and almost none include a beta read.

Author Services is $260 a book. That includes your concept session with Coral Hart, the full draft, an editorial pass, a human beta read, and your cover, blurb, Amazon metadata and A+ content.

We sell Author Services. Every other price below links to the provider’s own page.

Why only $260?

It is a fair question. Here is the plain answer: we do not write one custom book at a time. We run one proven process for whole series, with one team.

  • One concept session per series. Coral Hart sets the direction with you once. Every book after that already knows where it is going.
  • The same six steps for every book. Nothing is quoted from scratch, so there is one price per book.
  • A team, not one person. A team of ghostwriters drafts each book from your series outline, and a senior production lead runs the series, with designers and readers behind them.
  • Packaging made in-house. Our creative team designs your cover in our own studio, so there is no separate designer to hire.

What $260 is not: an hourly commission, or a book that runs well past 50,000 words. Longer manuscripts are possible on special request.

Want to test us first? You can order a single book for $260 before you commit to a series.

What you get for each book

  1. Your concept session with Coral Hart, once per series.
  2. Market grounding before a word is written.
  3. A full first draft by our team of ghostwriters, up to 50,000 words.
  4. An editorial pass: line-level revision and a full pre-flight check.
  5. A human beta read by a professional reader outside our team, with corrections made in the manuscript.
  6. Your cover, back-cover blurb, Amazon metadata and A+ content, ready for KDP.

You get the whole series concept up front. Then each book is sent to you as soon as its beta reader finishes, and you upload it under your own name.

Optional after delivery: Author Operations, $95 per series per month, month to month.

Questions authors ask

How much does it cost to hire a ghostwriter for a romance novel?
Published prices run from about $800 to $3,500 on Upwork, to an average of $16,000 for an 80,000-word romance on Reedsy, to $57,500 and up at Kevin Anderson & Associates. Author Services is $260 a book for up to 50,000 words, with the cover and a human beta read included.
Who writes the draft?
A team of ghostwriters. They draft each book from the outline built on your concept, and then a ghostwriter pass and an editorial pass revise it line by line. An independent human beta reader reads the whole book before it is sent to you.
Who owns the book?
You do. The manuscript, the cover and the metadata belong to you, and the book publishes under your name through your own KDP account. We sign a non-disclosure agreement on request.
How long does it take?
You get your whole series concept up front, at the start. Once you approve it, the books come to you one by one: each book is sent as soon as its beta reader finishes. We confirm your start date when you order.
Can I get a refund?
Packages are paid in full at checkout and are not refundable once paid. If the first draft does not match the concept brief we agreed at your concept session, we revise it against that brief at no extra charge.
